FAQ

Are my emergency contacts required to download the Plegium app?

No, your emergency contacts do not need to download the app to receive emergency alerts.

You simply need to add their cell phone numbers as emergency contacts within the app. When you trigger your device, your emergency contacts will receive phone calls and text messages from an American phone number.

We recommend that you ask your emergency contacts to add the Plegium phone numbers to their contact list for easy identification. Phone calls will come from (312) 626-5076, and text messages from (478) 288-8999.

Is a subscription required for my Plegium device?

No, a subscription is not mandatory to use your Plegium device. With the free Plegium app, you can add up to 2 emergency contacts who will receive complimentary location text messages and phone calls when you trigger your pepper spray or alarm button.

However, we offer optional paid subscriptions to enhance your safety experience:

  • Plegium Premium: This plan, priced at $6.99 per month or $69.99 per year, provides comprehensive safety features, including professional monitoring, live GPS tracking, an in-app panic button, and more.
  • Plegium Plus: Available at $3.99 per month or $39.99 per year, Plegium Plus offers the same features as Premium, excluding professional monitoring.

For both paid plans, you can add up to 7 emergency contacts, ensuring a wider network of support.

How does the professional monitoring service work on Plegium Premium?

Plegium Premium includes a 24/7 professional monitoring service that is activated when you trigger your device. The monitoring service is provided by one of the most advanced and trusted call centers available and currently protects more than 2 million people. When you activate your device, the Plegium app immediately connects to the monitoring service, which then notifies first responders about your situation and location.

This service is included in your Plegium Premium subscription and there is no additional cost for this feature. First responders will then take immediate action to ensure your safety.

How do I trigger my Plegium emergency button?

To trigger your Plegium Smart Emergency Button or Smart Emergency Button Wearable, simply press and hold both buttons on the side for 2 seconds. This will activate the alarm and send emergency alerts to your pre-set emergency contacts via phone call and text message, including your current location.

The device must be connected to your phone via Bluetooth, and the app need to be opened, for the alarm to be activated.

How do I set up my Plegium emergency button with my phone?

Setting up your Plegium Smart Emergency Button and Smart Emergency Button Wearable with your phone is a quick and easy process. Here's how to do it:

1. Download the Plegium app from the App Store or Google Play. Follow the setup instructions in the app and make sure to grant the app permission to use Bluetooth and location services.

2. Connect your emergency button to the app by tapping "Add device" on the home screen, then entering the four-digit code found on the back of the product. You can also add your device by going to Settings > Nearby Plegium Devices and finding your device in the list.

3. Add emergency contacts by clicking "Add contact" in the app and selecting cell phone numbers from your phone's contact list. With the free app version you'll be able to add up to 2 emergency contacts, with Premium and Plus up to 7.
