How do I set up my Smart / Smart Mini Pepper Spray?

It only takes a minute to set up your Smart / Smart Mini Pepper Spray. This is how you do it:

1.   Download the app Plegium from the App Store or Google Play (free)

2.   Connect your Smart / Smart mini in the app

3.   Add emergency contacts in the app (up to 5)

4.   To test all functions except the spray, push down the TEST lever on the side of the product for 10 seconds. Then push it back up.

The Plegium app must be open for the location text messages and phone calls to function. It's enough that the app is in the background and the phone can be locked, but if you actively close ("kill") the app it will not be able to receive the signal from your spray that it has been fired.

How do I use my spray?

The models Smart, Smart Mini, Combo and Premium have a spring-loaded safety lid that protects the trigger from being pressed by accident when you have the spray in your pocket or bag. This is how you use these models:

1. Slide your thumb under the safety lid
2. Press firmly in the middle of the trigger – all functions activate simultaneously
3. Spray the attacker from ear to ear across the eyes, and then aim for nose and mouth

Is there an expiry date on the products?

All products have a 4 year life. The models Smart, Smart Mini and Combo - which contain also batteries - all have 4 years of no-charging battery life.

Can I test the products?

All of our products have enough content for ~10-15 seconds of continuous spraying before they are empty. This is more than enough to aim and hit multiple attackers.

However, we don't recommend you testing the spray by pressing the trigger since it's important that you have the maximum amount of spray if you have to use the spray in an emergency.

If you want to test all other functions (location text messages, phone calls, siren and LEDs), you can push the TEST lever on the side of the product down for 10 seconds with something pointy. Then push the lever back up.

Can I travel abroad with my pepper spray?

Laws regarding pepper spray are very different from country to country. We don't recommend you bringing pepper spray on your travel abroad.

Since our sprays are aerosols, they must never be taken into the cabin of an airplane.
