Personal alarms and pepper sprays have hardly been developed further since they were invented in the 1970s.
Henrik Frisk and Carl Ljung founde Plegium®, aiming to transform the personal safety industry with a series of products that leverage modern technology to improve the chances of escaping an assault.
All products are developed and made in our factory in Surahammar, Sweden. All products are 100% tested (each function, on each and every unit).
The Plegium products are sold in ~20 countries all over the world.
Compared to other companies, we have chosen to manufacture our products in-house instead of outsourcing to China for instance. This ensures our products’ superior quality.
Our production facility is located in Sweden.
We test each and every function – the spray, Bluetooth, siren and LEDs – on each and every unit to make sure that you have a working product when you need it the most.
All product development is done in-house, which is necessary in order to effectively combine all the functions contained in a smart pepper spray.
We prototype using CAD software and 3D printers, design the electronic circuit boards, program firmware and the Plegium app – to name a few things. Then we set up effective mass production processes in our production facility.
Our in-house product development and production leads to advanced but still affordable products, with superior quality.
